About the client

Seeing a need for an online platform that enabled ranchers, farmers, and exotic pet owners to connect, Animal Findr is an online marketplace where buyers can interact with private sellers. Animal Findr has grown to service a variety of animals including but not limited to dogs, cats, goats, pigs, and horses. Incorporating a variety of tools including direct account messaging, searching by animal listing, and social media links, Animal Findr is one of the few marketplaces tailored specifically for farmers and ranchers, all while existing as a mobile-app platform.

Challenge

The founder of Animal Findr, a horse rancher himself, found that no online space existed that enabled him to locate, buy and sell horses in his local area. Wanting to fill this need, Animal Findr was born. In addition to animals locally Animal Findr wanted to service users by providing them with listings up to multiple states away. By creating such a platform, Animal Findr could meet a specific need for farmers and ranchers, allowing them to easily locate and communicate with other like-minded sellers and buyers.

Solution

Wanting to see their idea come to fruition, Animal Findr partnered with us to build a user-friendly mobile application available for both Apple and Android users. We had the opportunity to work with them to establish their vision with multiple functionalities:

Geolocation-based listings: Categorical listings were filled with animals located based on the users area and search filter settings, allowing users to search from between a few miles up to over 500 miles away from their current location.

Direct Messaging: Interested buyers can interact directly with sellers by using Animal Findr's in-app account-to-account messaging feature. This secure communication method eliminates the need for exchanging private contact information, providing users with a safe and convenient way to discuss listings without revealing personal details to unknown individuals.

Results

Animal Findr’s success has soared, thanks to its availability on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Users across the United States are leveraging its geolocation features to discover animals in their vicinity, with positive feedback reflected in reviews on both platforms. As a result of its impact, Animal Findr has rapidly grown into a trusted tool for users searching for animals in their communities and beyond, whether they are looking to expand their herd or their families.
